What's your balance style with your characters? Do you have any backburners?

I'd say right now I basically have a three-tiered system in terms of play time. Ty Lee gets the most attention by far because she's the easiest to play and has a group of canonmates who are always doing awesomely retarded stuff and it's fun to throw her in there, so she's definitely almost always first tier and I'm generally playing her multiple times a week. Kodachi tends to alternate between first and second tier; in other words, I usually play her at least once a week but often only just the once. Hidan and Stacy are both generally in the same spot behind Kodachi; I try to play them each at least once a week, but often I'll forget or not see anywhere I want to play them (or if I do I'll be distracted by other things and not get the chance, sob).

Hyde is my definite backburner. To be perfectly honest I don't think it really makes a lot of sense to not play him as a backburner in camp; he's a character who is very openly apathetic towards others and if given the option he'd pretty much spend all of his time in his cabin watching ( ... )

I have a tendency to get into playing phases, just because I dislike having to sign in and out while threading different threads. So when I play one character, I have a tendency to jump a bunch of threads or post with that same character. Soubi and Ban are my primary, Ryohei is good for anytime brainlessness. Tohma is played less than the others, just because he's such a professional type without close friends, it's hard to establish connections out of work with him. Sieg is and probably always will be backburner. He is a prince who doesn't care and expects the world to revolve around him at all times. It's...hilarious, but leads to a problem of many threads not going very far.

I use google calenders, so I tend to keep an eye on the balance of colors. If it's heavy in one shade, I'll spend a day balancing out the others.

How do you schedule playing with canon mates? Do you plan epic posts?

head_overheels May 5 2008, 22:40:27 UTC
Well. Yeah no almost never. Neither the Ranma cast nor the Naruto cast... really ever plan out anything and the Avacast isn't much better. We have... ideas for posts? Some of which we handle quickly, some of which, like the Fire Nation Advicepost which we haven't done yet, are thought of and then we don't do for ages, and some of them we come up with and then never do. Most of the stuff that the Avacast does is pretty spur of the moment; we don't plan things out, we're just sort of... inspired by each others' dumb antics.

Who is the one character you really really want to app but never will for whatever reason?

How will Ty Lee decorate her jail cell?

Reply

head_overheels May 5 2008, 21:33:58 UTC
With tons of pink, of course. Not too bright, but Ty Lee loves her bright happy colors and will find a way to make her cell appropriate. She's still Fire Nation nobility, dammit, she has rights. She's... also probably going to terrifyingly good at social networking and she'll find the best artist in Boiling Rock and get them to make a portrait of her and Mai and probably Azula and she'll put that up in a nice, prominent area, and also she'll get at least one guard who goes in and out of the prison to get her flowers. Her cell is a happy cell where she is fine and secure and not emo over betraying one of her best friends, absolutely not.

If/when the Geass cast canon updates, how would it affect how you play Euphie? Or, you know, beyond the obvious I guess.

atyeast_itried May 5 2008, 21:44:08 UTC
With a mindwipe of everything that happened while she was Geass'd. It's canon! Also, I'd have the Geass break with death, because I don't want to ALWAYS shoot all the Japanese characters in camp. She'd be very agitated whenever anyone said "hey remember that time that you shot a bunch of people up?" but only in a sense of "aldhf;lahdf I didn't. Because updating would probably involve Euphie dying, I haven't decided whether she'd remember that part or not. Anyway, the moral of R2 is EVERYONE OUTWARDLY ACTS EXACTLY THE SAME LOLOLOLOL so.

Would Ty Lee be a Clover or a Toro?

Because this will never happen: Boiling Rock update in camp. What would Ty Lee do?

head_overheels May 6 2008, 00:59:44 UTC
... ohhhhh god um well THIS WILL BE LONG AND RAMBLY. Ty Lee would. Well, first of all she'd be miserable but she wouldn't really let anyone who isn't Mai or Azula see that (maybe other Avacast people too, particularly like Katara or someone, but definitely no non-Misa or Suzaku people outside of the cast). But the first thing she would do is touch base with Mai and figure out where the hell they go from here, which probably involves Mai going wherever Zuko goes and Ty Lee probably finding her own place, probably in the hospital or hotel.

After that she'd probably find Zuko, punch him very hard in the face and blame him for everything like a really mature person and then tell him in no uncertain terms that if he doesn't appreciate what they did for him (i.e. get back with Mai you retard) he's a dead man.

And then after that she'd probably. Finally have to address the Azula issue which she'd pretty much have to, like. Force herself to do, and it would involve trying to explain herself and a lot of yelling and shouting and crying and ( ... )

The odds of canon doing anything besides making Azula even more unhinged are...yeah, basically nonexistant. So Azula will never, ever update past that because it destroys two things she needs to survive (along with my favorite relationships):

1. Her control of the situation
2. Her understanding of how people work

The biggest problem would be losing control. If Azula lost Mai and Ty Lee, she has nothing else. No troops, no support, no way to get back to the Fire Nation where her actions are approved of by Fire Lord Ozai. It would be her against the rest of the Avatar's allies, and if even they didn't press anything she basically would be operating like a cornered animal. If she managed to put up the veneer of having control again (and I really I doubt how effective it would be, given the previews) the truce would still be fucked to hell and Azula would be playing much more ruthless against anyone she came into contact with. Even people she was close to previously, like Misa or Kira ( ... )

Oh jeez. Uh. THERE ARE A LOT. I'm just going to name a few as they come to mind, one for each character I've played; Hyde vs. Fraser, the barrier race where Kodachi switched sides like four times, Hidan's thread with high!Kimimaro, Stacy's Game Boy slumber party with Mikuru, Takashi Kamiyama vs. Kamina and Simon, and oh jeez which one for Ty Lee... let's go with the entire onsen fiasco because ahahaha oh lord.

Same for you for each character you've played.

My self-centeredness, let me show you it. Kodachi's thoughts on Ivy, please! :D

o-oh man okay I'm ready I can write this.

Kodachi both likes and really, really, really hates Ivy. Prior to the noncon thread it was entirely likes and now it alternates because. Yeah. Kodachi is a narcissistic sociopath. As far as she's concerned it's her world, everything operates by her rules, if the established rules are convenient for her they are in effect and if they don't work for her fuck them, and most importantly she always wins. No matter what, there has to be a way for her to come out on top ( ... )

I just have to point out that Gmail is advertising 'Dumped? - GetYourExBackNow.com - Instant Relief From Break Up Pain & Fastest Plan To Get Your Ex Back.' since I opened the comment notification for this.

Ivy thinks Kodachi is awesome fun. Kodachi is not a threat, clearly not a hero, and keeps coming back whenever Ivy harasses her. This makes her an excellent toy. She likes Kodachi's persistence, and she definitely likes that Kodachi will banter with her and stand up to her. Most people either are heroes, are out to kill Ivy as part of their villainous master plan, or are civilians and run away screaming. She's always fascinated by people who are different to her expectations, especially if they'll let her play with her the special badtouchy mindfuck Ivy way. She'll keep poking them until they finally snap, and then she'll poke some more to see what happens.

...Ivy and Kodachi somehow miraculously have a baby. Tell me what the poor child is like. My only excuse is that I'm exhausted.

How well do you think your characters would do on Deal or No Deal?

[Good lord my questions are random and odd. XD]

getrhythmic May 7 2008, 05:21:48 UTC
Oh god so sloooow sorry. Kodachi would get bored within five minutes, use paralysis powder on everyone in the building, and leave. She wouldn't even take anything valuable because she has no interest in money; she already has more than enough. Hidan, in the same vein, loathes obsession with material stuff and would punch Howie Mandel out if he's feeling nice, tell the crowd to fuck off, and leave. Stacy would be driven into an insecure nervous fit by the whole thing, so in other words she would make an amazing game show contestant. She would either do fairly poorly or really well by pure dumb luck. But given her luck, probably poorly. Ty Lee would... probably try to use aura reading to cheat the game. It probably wouldn't work that well and she'd only do okay.

Really, the biggest winner would be Hyde, and not because he'd necessarily do well in the game. Rather, his continual mockery of and hurling of abuse towards the audience would be so entertaining that it would likely guarantee that he would be periodically brought back every ( ... )

RACHEL FIRST HOLY CHRIST. Then he'd want Ax, because of uncle!!!bestfriend! thing going on.
Then, because lol, 4 of the 6 Animorphs are there, they would need their leader like fire, so Jake would be coming in, and finally Cassie. (Okay, am I the only one seeing Cassie having hilarious shenanigans with the local fauna?)

Also, Oh God David. If he were apped I might cry, I don't even know.

If Ty Lee didn't do the whole contortionist thing, what other part would she play in the circus?

Reply

head_overheels May 7 2008, 05:33:42 UTC
Hmm. Well, if Ty Lee didn't do acrobatics and being just a contortionist is out of the question, she'd probably do a mix of things. She could probably do fortune telling very well because of the aura reading, and she would probably have a knack for juggling because of her sense of balance and athleticism. She also has a knack for spacing out, of course, which is a bad thing, but her reflexes are good enough that she just might be able to pull it off.

When did you get into Animorphs and which book did you read first?
