Those things seem to keep to the woods down there. Can't say I'm sorry about that, fascinating as they look.

It appears that I am, though I had a ready model.

They are startling, true, but in fact they are tame. I think they may even agree to be ridden.

You don't think those wings would actually work? They look not a little atrophied, but so does the whole creature.

I have seen them fly. Whether they could do so with a man's weight on their backs, I cannot guess.

A book I have found calls them thestrals; they are supposed to be very dangerous, but I have observed them to be tame, even friendly.

They are meat-eaters; but so are dogs and cats.

They're winged horses that eat meat. [She thinks twice about saying "of course."]

This is also a flying, meat-eating horse; but it's called a thestral, and it is very much alive.

Perhaps they are different breeds, as the guoxia and the yili are both breeds of the ordinary horse.
