Smokers, Beware. Because I Hate You.

I absolutely hate smokers. I detest them and everything about their habit with a passion and fervor that I'm unable to reproduce in words... but I'll try. The following disturbing and true facts come from www.no-smoke.org, the American's for Non-Smoker's Rights website.
  1. Actively smoking 1-2 cigarettes a day increases your risk incredibly for ( Read more... )

smokers are a problem, but delaware has come up with a nice compromise, that would be nice to have in pa. smokers arent allowed to smoke in buildings.

i pretty much agree, but constantly complaining about it doesnt change anything. neither does preaching to the choir, if ya know what i mean.

all in all, i wish that it was easy for smokers to quit, and i wish they all wanted to. unless you see/experience it firsthand you dont realize how hard it is once you get started. im happy that i have only seen it, but the feeling of helping someone quit was a bazillion times better than the happiness of only seing it. yeah, its hard to express it.

i think you're being very close-minded and rude. how can you judge someone based solely on the fact that they smoke, do drugs, or drink? that's ruling out a lot of possibilities for you to get to know some very unique people. and how can you judge something you have never touched? you don't know what you're talking about. why is smoking wrong? you don't have to smoke, but that gives you no right to discriminate against people who decide to. you have to know both sides of the story before deciding what you think. i believe you are taking what has been preached to you all your life and then in turn preaching it to others ( ... )

"we all know that drinking, doing drugs, and smoking have harmful consequences, but they also have many positive aspects..."

Um... what? What positives do they have? They cause addiction and are merely temporary escapes from the "real" world. I don't think I'm being rude because this is my journal, because it is specifically for me to write my feelings pertaining to any issue that I would like, because no one is forcing anyone else to read this journal in any way. Maybe you stumbled upon it; maybe you were told about it; it doesn't matter, really, because it was completely voluntary for you to read and comment on it.

And yes, I know I'm a few months late. Thanks for the incite.

It's different with alcohol and other drugs. Some people have genealogical addictions. Not that that's an excuse. But you can't criticize a person that has a serious disease. You just melded them into the mix of the people that just do it for their own stupid recreational use and seem to think it's "healthy".

And I love how you made a very intelligent debate about this, but then had to ruin it by using the word "retarted" at the end. I was impressed with you before that. That's just a shame.

Sorry, stumbled upon this randomly and felt the need to put in some input even though this post was made so long ago.
