How do you really feel about taking me hunting with you?

I’m fine with it, Percy. Really. I’ve never been hesitant to train people when they need it and to let them help out, but I am if they have a good life and don’t need to be dragged into this. That’s why I needed to make sure if there was a chance for you to have a normal life or not. I would never wish this life on anyone. But you say that you can’t have that life, so I’m happy for you to hunt with me.

Fine. When I was a baby… the yellow eyed demon fed me demon blood, so I’ve always had that in my system. He wanted to make me the Boy King of Hell. That blood gave me a psychic power for a while, but it had gone once we killed him. I thought it was gone for good, but it turned out that I just needed something to make it stronger. So… when Dean had gone to Hell, I was a mess. I would get drunk each night and try to make them swap me with Dean, but they wouldn’t have it.

Then Ruby came along and she was there for me when Dean wasn’t. She made me trust her and she helped me get better. She convinced me that I needed to use my ability when hunting to get stronger so that I could kill Lilith and get revenge for Dean. So… she fed me her blood because she’s a demon.

A bit of both? I’ve always wanted to stop hunting, and I have tried to, but before I met you, I just never thought that I could. I was sure that I wouldn’t make it through the Apocalypse and if I did by some rare chance, I would still be hunting with Dean because that’s all I had. But that’s changed because of you. So, in a way it is to make you happy, because that’s all I ever want to do. You being happy makes me happy. But it’s also something that I really, really want to do.
