Yeah, it's kind of like Children of Eden. We have the choice of who we want to be with. (When Adam was given the option of another wife, he chose to stay with Eve and bear the consequences.)

Love in general is complicated. Yes, with gays, there's a longstanding reputation for promescuity and the spread of AIDS. But wait a minute, I just described straight men too. Should we ban straight marriages then? Because obviously people in general are proned to make mistakes and can't be trusted to be faithful to their wives (or husbands).

In general, there's a lack of empathy in California. Really, it's more conservative I think than we realized. (They elected Schwartzeneggar as their governor.) Olberman is right; it's as if the law is trying to invalidate love. Whose right is it for voters to say love can't exist between two people? Yeah, I think the majority of us are righteously pissed about proposition 8, whether or not it affects us personally.
