Saturday worked out pretty well. It has been ages since I had an officially declared party, and I took my hostly duties seriously. This saw me stay up late on Friday cleaning the flat and get up early(ish) on Saturday for more of the same. The result was certainly not Fab Five-worthy, but at least people had plenty of empty floor to stand on. ( Read more... )

I have the coolest people lists. For example:

In attendance of this Live Journal comment was Dan (dobworld).

See? How cool was that!

It was nice to see your floor again, after so many long years.

You mean to say you don't remember you and Tama duetting/duelling on "The Final Countdown"? Or Ryan sneaking the controller and doing a playback at the end? Hmm... perhaps the memory lapses serve a purpose.

I'm going to tone the drinking down a little, I think.

Did you get messy after I left or something? You seemed to be in a pretty happy place at 1AM. And if you're still in a happy place, I think things are okay. I mean, sure there was some loud anthem singing, but that wasn't your fault. It was Tama.

(If Melanie had been mixing all the drinks, though, it would have been a completely different matter. She sure was... Liberal... With the bourbon.)

Oh, I think I'm all right, too. I just wish my memory was a bit sharper in places.

I meant to thank you for the bourbon provision, as well. I was already having a pretty exciting time, but the juleps were the masterstroke that upped the level of entertainment to full-blown shenanigans. Good idea.

A little bit of booze for the 30th birthday of my oldest friend is the least I can do.
