Well, all I can say is that I felt roughly the same way, especially about what it does to friendships and how the movement treats roles of women (because I did a lot of dating/hooking up back in my heyday, I was thought of as a slut, but if I were male and behaved the same way, I'm sure I would have been MacDaddy Freethought). While I still support separation of church and state, I am glad I left when I did.
As I've moved on, I have found other sources for the world's problems other than religion/belief in G0d... There are many progressive people in the world who also have a religious faith (including me!).... Instead, many who wish to oppress others use religion as a legitimating synthesis. And "Freethinkers," frankly, aren't that different-- They have their own legitimating syntheses, too.
I'm sure many other movements will be thrilled to have you, as they did/do me :-)
