Hmm, I had always heard that Japanese kitties say "Nya", but I guess it sounds kind of the same...and I totally didn't know that that's why we drop the u in words like 'desu!' Yay, now I don't feel as clueless as before.

...I'm totally going to tick like a Japanese clock during chem tomorrow.

I had issues translating the word for 'meow'... they used a symbol I wasn't familiar with [IPA], and the best I could figure was that it was a rounded front vowel.... [which I guess would mean that 'nya' would not end as 'ah', but as 'aw'?]
