hi tyler, its valerie. i was wondering if you could answer a question for me - im debating on getting a job at nirvana...and i was wondering how things went for you there. he told me he would start me out at 6$ and what not...i was thinking since things were so slow around there that i could probably get a lot of my homeschooling work done, because id be there during the day. itd be really appreciated if you responded - if not, its totally cool. i just knew you worked there before, so, i thought id see what you had to say.
my experience there was really weird. they were really, really shady and they wouldn't give me my schedule until the day before. i quit because i had this really bad urinary tract infection and had to be admitted to the hospital, but the manager/owner still tried to tell me i had to work nine hours the next day or he'd fire me.
as for getting stuff done, though, it's an ideal situation. there will be hours that go by without a customer (they typically only make a couple hundred dollars a day). it will give you plenty of time to do work, read books, play with henna, rip out your hair, etcetc. i was really bored, but if i could've taken my schoolwork off my computer it probably wouldn't have been so bad.
but like i said, they're shady. they jipped me of more than a couple hours, it took them more than a couple weeks to ask for my social security number, and i didn't get any training. but as long as you're good with that, it's not so bad.
