Gellert had done some exploring of the mansion and the grounds but right now he was sitting down on a (non-flammable) couch and reading. The book looked old and tattered and had no title on the cracked-leather cover, only some strange symbols.

He seemed engrossed in it, having a small but delighted smile on his face.

Armand plops down right beside him, not even considering the man may not recognize him. He's strangely confident he will.

"What are you reading?"

Gellert looks up, startled slightly since he was so intent on the page before him. But then he gives Armand a smile.

"It is about some ancient magicks. Fascinating but perhaps obsolete."

"Is it your kind of magic?" he asks. Here at the Mansion there were so many different kinds. There were even some he could learn if he put his mind to it, but he wasn't interested.

"It's similar but not the same," he answers. He closes the book and places it on his lap, folding his hands over it.

"So how have you been?" He clearly does recognise Armand.

Another reader is around - dressed in fashionably messy clothes, he's gently scratching notes, occasionally looking out distractedly.

[OOC: Hi, LJ fails at notifications as you know, but I did tag you back in Other Posts. Just letting you know. ^^]

After a moment, Gellert sighs and glances up. He sees someone else nearby and watches them curiously.

"Are you studying?" He finally questions.

"Attempting to, rather," Pascal replies after a moment. He looks at the person addressing him. "I'm sorry, have we met before?"

One might note that if it weren't for the disarray of his garments, he would look like he's from the Napoleonic years.

And Gellert looks very Victorian.

"I don't believe so," he smiles pleasantly. "I am Gellert Grindelwald."

We thought we'd introduce another Victorian. Sugar is writing in the same room and writing with dedication - after a while, though, she looks up, sighs and crunches a piece of paper into a ball.

It's not a particularly discreet exercise.

He notices this and remarks with an amused tone, "Try again?"

She looks over, smirks a little. "I don't suppose there is any other way, is there?"

Her tone is amused, slightly sarcastic, but not unfriendly.

"What were you attempting to write? A romantic novel, perhaps?"
