Nov 19, 2010 16:55

ooc: Went to the Deathly Hallows movie today and having Gellert in my head, this is what happened: He went from amused to incredulous to miffed to angry to pouting and ended up just fuming so he had to rant...

Spoilers may be below. It's off the official RP record but feel free to poke him or calm him down or something.

I am no traitor )

You are not alone... I've seen the animated series that's been based on *ahem* certain episodes in my life, and while I'm generally pleased with it, I do have some bones to pick about it ( ... )

I have no issues with the actor/s that portray me but the scriptwriter needs some talking to - or more. They completely twisted the one line I have in the film to be the opposite of what really happened. Any hint at redemption? Instantly blasted away.

IN TRUTH I DO NOT ASSIST VOLDEMORT, I TAUNT HIM.

Do not even get me started on the people who think I had anything to do with the so-named World War II. I didn't. I had my hands full dealing with the wizards in my own world at that time and did not cause or assist anyone in that Muggle conflict. Thankfully, this was not brought up in the film at all.

It seems that we both have much to rant about, Herr Doctor.

Hrrrm, do not get me started on the "fans" who completely miss the point in my own history. I've been falsely accused of forcing myself on my fiancee, the one person in the world whom I would *NEVER* harm if I can help it. If anything, she is the reason I chose to descend into the darkness within me, just so that I could look on her face again, just so that I could live to care for her. Yes, she was assaulted, but that was the work of my dearly beloved brother Saki. So it seems both of us have had problems with people destroying our chances for redemption....

They do like to assume much, don't they? My typist has long wanted to write an essay based solely on canon facts that dispproves all their most negative untruths about me. I am not that black and white and I am not like Voldemort.

*shrugs* People are stupid, that's all. You know how many dumb things are written about Dad? But anyone who actually thinks for two seconds knows what's right, and I bet it's the same for you, you just gotta ignore the idiots. Who cares what they think anyway?

Hi! You said anyone could pop in, and Al felt like sticking his nose into someone else's business :)

At first I wasn't so concerned - and you're right, I do not generally care what people think of me - but the more I thought about it...

As long as the right people know the truth, I suppose I should not be so bothered. But it is is irritating to have one's character sullied so often and to have the truth so twisted.

[Yay! Good to see him. ^_^]

I know what you mean. First Potter in generations and son of the Gryffindor "Saviour" to be in Slytherin? The papers went mental when they found out. Thought I was gonna turn evil overnight or something. They still write about it.

Not saying it's as bad as having people think you helped Voldemort, but I can understand a bit. *shrug*

Slytherin does not equal evil as much as Gryffindor does not equal good. You are an individual, not a House. These old traditions should be looked into and updated. It is as bad as the Ministry's backward way of thinking and it's old fashioned Statute of Secrecy. See what trying to change that got me...

I had accepted that history books would manipulate their words to make me look bad but this was something else. I am mortally offended. It is the opposite of what I would have done and did do.

*especially when his favourite hobby is to taunt Tom Riddle whenever he runs into one in a RP*

Your namesake would have been even more disappointed in me if this had actually happened. At least he and your father know the truth.

(since this is off RP record I hope your Albus won't mind me butting in to show my support)

It -is- the worst kind of infamy, what they did to you. You are right to be upset.
As am I, since in this version I will not have the comfort of knowing about your repentance or the hope that in the end you might have cared about my tomb.

And I would not want the world to remember you as a monochrome villain. Alas, most will. However, those who matter know the truth, don't they?

[Actually, he's never had a RP Albus! So no problem there. ;)]

Albus... I know what happened and what didn't happen, even if in this lifetime I have not lived it as yet.

This is even worse than the Ministry spreading lies about me. It's more personal. It's about you and I. I would never betray you like that and I definately wouldn't do so to that idiotic trumped up wizard who has to hide behind his fancy titles and names just to impress people.

I am not as angry as I was initially but it is still very... wrong.

I do believe it will be sorted out between us once we are face to face and yes, that is all that counts in the end.
