There are poppies that grow next to the driveway that leads up to my house and I always privately refer to them as my little hell flames. Sylvia Plath... *sigh*.

I live in Jamaica Plain (an area of Boston): childhood home of Sylvia! Although you'd never ever know it. Not a plaque, not a mention. I only found out last year when I read her biography! This being such an artsy neighborhood, I would expect pilgrimages or some attempt to cash in on her name. *shrug*

It's the doubled "colorless" at the very end, maybe. Such violent color until then, and with a word it's dispelled into air.
