Spore

I really enjoy playing Spore.  My laptop is not so keen, especially after I installed Galactic Adventures. Had to give up playing because of crashes. Then, a couple of months ago, I accidentally hit the original Spore icon on my Quick Launch bar (yep, not so good on the housekeeping on the laptop, lol) and the game loaded and played without crashes ( Read more... )

Wow! What amazing variety :D You do have some really alien-looking ones.

Will you mind if I pick your brain a little when I get the game? I will have tons of questions, I'm sure. Actually I have one or two already, but I'll sit on them for now...

I'm inspired to add extra heads now, and also to try making front legs bigger. They really are cute like that. So far I've tended to go the other direction, back legs bigger (like my Bandiscouts) and that is cute too. Maybe I should leave your personal style signature to you. Oh, now I feel self-conscious... damn, lol.

I need a Spore icon. See, babbling is catching.

You're welcome to pick my brain, I'll try and let you do that when I'm awake and in non-babble mode :)

Don't feel self-concious, you do what you like and experiment. It's fun trying things out.

There were some brilliant creators. Next time I'm in game I'll get some names for you to look at. You don't have to ask permission to 'buddy' someone. Unfortunately, most of the ones I really liked have stopped playing now.

Spore icon is good idea, I want one too now :)

PS I liked those long thing spindly arms you put on one of your first creations - the one that was pink but then you painted it bronze with blue spots: http://pixelcurious.livejournal.com/190719.html#cutid1

O_O I had totally forgotten about that post. See? Swiss cheese. It's weird reading that again. (I did remember a fat insect-legged thing I made, because I put a video on YouTube.)

Those were pretty cool. I never got Spore, thought about it, but never got it. Every once in a while I see it somewhere and think about it, but I am so far behind in my game play I am not sure if it would be a good idea to add another one to the list.

It is great that you are enjoying creating all of these creatures, several of them were really cute, and a couple actually kind of looked scary like i would scream if I saw something like that in real life. :-)

Thank you.

Actually playing the game the cute ones remain really cute. The ones I didn't like were the spiders created by other players. Some of them were nightmare inducing. *Shudders*

Oh my goodness, spiders give me nightmares when I see them so I would never be able to play with those.

Those are fantastic and very alien-like! I actually did pick it up, myself, out of curiosity on the conversations you and Pixel've been having. (Also, I got a coupon for 50% off on an EA game, so I figured what the Hey!.) I wound up getting it for 10 bucks.

The trick will be on whether or not I give myself time to actually play it. I'm pretty immersed into CoH and Sims 3, so we'll see! But I did get a nice price for it. :D

It's a different kind of play than CoH and the Sims (not that I've played CoH). Makes a nice change of pace and a surprisingly good stress buster.

When you do try it out, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Well City of Heroes is pretty much your standard RPG style game. Go in, fight bad guys, save citizens, make pretty costumes! :D I appreciate that!

I think the reason Sims persists and probably Spore in the same manner is you're not entirely PUNISHED in the games. It's heavily skewed to being rewarded for doing things versus punishment for failing. I like games like this! :D

I just need to sort out whether I want to play Spore or Sims and right now I have a goal... that's get darkside Taliesen (I have too many versions of him, it's confusing, I know...I'll summarize this mess sooner or later.) and Nathan back together!

Hope that you're farther along the track of re-uniting darkside Taliesen and Nathan now and that it even turned out to be fun/is fun getting them back (rather than frustrating, as I think it may have been.)
