oh my god. i don't think i've ever had such "We don't eats" in my house before.
I get it. We are foodies. Totally understand that. But come on. The rice dream tastes just like low quality ice cream- all they eat anyway.
They asked at one point if we didn't have any regular restaurants in town we could go to...so we went to the place we call reliable disappointment. It's a very kid friendly diner in town. Very popular with the wholesome set. They have a kids menu, they have hamburgers, shepards pie, and other diner food.
Immediately they start critizing the menu, saying there are too many options, how they learned to run a restaurant on tv by watching top kitchen nightmares or something. The table orders 5 hamburgers. After we had eaten hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch.
We went for a nice brunch this morning after they left and are now decompressing.
'Regular restaurants' are things like TGIFridays I bet.
Sounds like a severe lack of manners....
Yeah...I salute you and your fortitude to survive the visit. Enjoy your decompression time. BIG deep breaths and give yourself a Sunday afternoon cocktail. Preferably with jazz music and a lovely thundery storm. (That is what is going on in my house right now)
