A note on cat teeth - some cats have bad teeth genetics, just like some humans do. Unfortunately, my kitty does, and I now brush my kitty's teeth once a week, after she lost 6 of them! Fortunately, those were the little ones between the big ones in front, and really don't affect the eating habits of domestic cats. But, if I hadn't started brushing her teeth, she would've lost the canines next, and that would've been sad.
If you haven't taken or scheduled Toothless for a vet visit yet, make that happen and be sure to mention the tooth issues. They may need to do a kitty tooth x-ray to see how the toofbones are holding up.
Oh, and kitty toothbrushing isn't bad. You have to make a kittyburrito first so you don't lose an eye. And pet/treat/feed immediately afterwards, so they start associating the toothbrushing with good things.
Thanks, we'll keep that in mind and mention it the next time he sees the vet. Amy had a thought that the tooth he lost might have been one of his milk teeth, which makes sense and probably puts him at 5 to 7 months old (they estimated he was about 3 months when he arrived at the SPCA in February).
