A lot has happened this month.

Catching up on freelance work - lots of that! - as well as getting back to speed at the Day Job.

The loss of Marty Gear. Didn't manage to post when it happened, but that hurt. Marty was one of the sweetest, most charming, funny, and madly skilled people I knew from costuming fandom. His Uncle Vlad act, complete

I too am sad about Marty. I saw him twice in three months and made sure to spend as much time with him as I could, since I knew that time was limited. Last time I saw him he was all garbed up to wench a charity auction, in a custom made vest with brocade, striped pants, and tall leather boots. He spent the night mesmerizing people into buying expensive items by doing his Uncle Vlad schtick. We spent a bunch of time horsing around and laughing and I got him to tell the story about the time he and starless_knight went to the theater and scandalized all the other season-ticket holders, which is a great story and wants retelling.

It's not going to be the same without him.
