Knitting Resolution #1 (finish 11 projects in 2011) is going swimmingly... I'm about 2 hours from my third finish of the year. Obviously this goal is too attainable, so another resolution must be made.

My Facebook feed is full of friends' and family's posts about how cute their kids are or how much they love God, or occasionally both. Which is lovely, actually, and I'm happy that they're happy. See... I live alone with a cat. Which means I talk to the cat a lot. Occasionally, if I'm feeling silly, I'll fill in her side of the conversation too. (DON'T JUDGE.) So... many... ideas! Started out looking at Knit Picks yarns to get an idea of what the sock multis look like knitted up (because I want a set of wood DPNs while they're on sale and might as well go in for free shipping), got distracted by patterns, got more distracted by designer pages, went and looked at more yarns, drooled over a few lace shawls ( Read more... ) -

Just barely on schedule. :) Not decorated yet, though... just putting the thing together every year is an Epic Undertaking. It's a $20 special from the impoverished-student days, and is made up of 28 separate pieces, each of which has a bunch of flimsy wire tips that must be painstakingly starfished out and fluffed in order to at all resemble a ( Read more... ) -

I really hate mousetraps. :( Heard one snap shut in the kitchen, went out to stop the cat from playing with the results, and dropped a squished-in-the-middle little body into the kitchen trash.
