 I'm getting nervous about surgery this Friday. Not so much about the procedure itself, but about recovery time. I need to be able to use my hand enough to shelve books (at least slowly) by 3/23. Preferably, it would be before then, b/c my FIL leaves on the 17th and Jezaboy and I are on our again.

ack. I'm sorry you're worried too. Hopefully that nurses assistant (?) can give you some tips.

You're getting one hand done at a time, right? I think you're going to be fine. Mom recovered very fast - she just wasn't supposed to lift anything heavy with the post-surgical hand. One book at a time should be okay,I would think.
