This missing child sounded eerily familiar to something that got circulated through my work email recently, so I did a look-up on Snopes.com to see if this was true.

Yeah...I just put it on TBBS and another forum, and I am still being swamped with emails telling me it's a hoax.

I thought I was doing something good here. guess not...glad I didn't just forward it to everyone in my address book.

I feel kind of humiliated now.

Don't feel humiliated! I totally fell for it too the first time I saw it. I mean, I even had to look it up AGAIN to confirm it was just a rumor.

You have a genuine concern for the well being of other people, and that's something you should NEVER be humiliated about. :)

Yeah, for sure. Anything like this I tend to check up on Snopes, simply because sometimes these things are true. Unfortunately, this is the internet, so these things don't tend to be as straightforward as they seem.
