No to ID?

May 28, 2008 10:48

We are told that ID cards are a good thing and we need them to protect our identity, etc. This article exposes how ID cards are exploited by not-so-benign regimes.

It makes me glad that I live in a democratic society where we would never allow this to happen to us.

id cards, big brother

I was going to make a fallacious argument blaming it all on the monks but I'm not sure it would carry well over t'internet. :)

Are you in London on Saturday?

Indeed I am going to be in London on Saturday. Tan and I are going to the XP8 gig. I think that we will be going straight to the gig though, rather than going into Camden beforehand.

I shall see you there then. I am staying over at a friends. Getting there mid-afternoon. I suspect alcohol will become involved, then we are heading to Slimelight for the gig. :)

".. a city of pure commerce, undiluted by history or rooted culture - the crack cocaine of capitalism.."

Ahh, TERATOMA'S head office!

srsly, just heard confirmation for the next Canterbury No2ID event, a public showing of "Taking Liberties" ( http://www.noliberties.com/ ) at Orange Street Music, if you're up for some politicisin'

also, have a top sekrit hades type plan, not for internet consumption, if you're out at Cam's thing tonight?

"also, have a top sekrit hades type plan"
OOOh, I am intrigued :)

Is the showing going to be part of the 4 June No2ID meetup? Wednesdays are not good for me, as I have a regular thing on, but I might have to make a concession if "Taking Liberties" is showing and there are going to be other people to talk to on the subject.

yeah, it's just what i was saying the other day, if you go in there and book some other night that has a different name and plays some other genre, call it "wickedcore" or whatever the kids are into these days, don't mention Hades or Goth/Industrial and when it's secured you can play whatever you want and their till count will tell them how foolish they were for turning down the original offer :)

It's on the 22nd June at Orange Street Music, am trying to get them to play Wrong Tom's zombie movie, is very good!
