There's a war in my way

I managed to swallow down about half of my breakfast of dry toast and coffee by the time Fred woke up. The image of a pile of dust laying in that shop burned itself into my mind. I guess I mostly lost my appetite after that. At least Fred seemed to be doing after sleeping most of the day away. Her eyes were still red rimmed from crying, and I wasn' ( Read more... )

Crossing my arms across my chest, I ignored Faith and Fred for a minute and walked towards Wesley's cage. I wanted to be shocked by him, but like I said I don't get that luxury these days.

"Taunting." I said seriously, not moving my eyes from Wesley's. "Must be the new in caged look this fall."

"Can we just do this already?" My thoughts were interupted by Faith's impatient voice from behind me. I turned around and looked back at the two of them. Both of them looked nervous in their own way.

"Yes. We can do it right now. Fred and I brought over all the supplies we'll need." I nodded at Fred and she started taking things out of the bag I'd brought with us. Books, candles, everything we'd need to shove the soul right back in Wes.

"Shut up!" Faith hissed out at Wesley, I could practically see every slayer muscle in her body tensing up. Well, not every muscle cause eww but you know what I mean.

"Just ignore him." I said to her, to both of them. "He won't even be here in a few minutes." I nodded at Fred as she continued to set up the ingredients we would need for the spell.

"So..." I walked over to the slayer and looked her over for a minute. "Did everything go...okay?" Stupid question I know. Nothing was okay, and I knew Faith was feeling the same way.

"I did the job. Good enough, right?" She shrugged sullenly and then continued to ignore me. Okay. Check. Faith is in a bad mood.
