Case Seventeen, Carefully locked from Ganymede

[And as the spheres are known for their most wonderful timing in turning themselves on, Motoko's does so just as piece of cloth ripped from her coat is thrown over her head. The hole she made for her head is a bit on the large side, offering a good view of her cleavage, not that she seems to care about that at the moment. Despite being shrunk to a ( Read more... )

[Oliver is about a foot tall now--30 centimetres to him--and is currently wrapped in a torn off portion of one of his T-shirts] Now that's a good idea! Do other people know about it? I mean, in case there's an emergency and somebody needs to be moved around fast.

I'm not sure, but for anyone who might miss this I can watch the network easily and offer assistance to anyone who might need it. [shrugs with one arm since the other is gripping around Chroma's neck]

Oh great, cheers for that!

You seem to be taking this...well. [if threatening the captain can be considered well. he certainly can't blame her]

As well as I can be for the current situation. [looks a bit disgruntled as she says it and has Chroma stand, Conan following after them]

Do you need a lift?

I'm almost starting to expect stuff like this. I think that's the really sad part...

Yeah, I think I might just stay on the shopping level while things are like this. I should be able to pinch most anything I need there. But uh...I'm in my room, and I don't think I'll be able to get to the barcode scanner to work the transporter pad. Mind getting me that far?

Sure. What room are you in? [moving to the nearest transporter pad as she says it]

I'm in Kepler--Unit 3 in Dione Hall. Thanks!

[She has Chroma lean over so she can scan her barcode to get to the Kepler level. She guides her two puppet bodies down to Dione Hall and scans her barcode to get in. She has Conan kneel down and hold out her arms if he wants a lift.]

[as much as he dislikes needing to be carried around...a giant robot is about to pick him up. that's really sort of cool! he steps forward, trying to decide how he can climb up onto her shoulder. maybe best to let her help him do it] So what's...her...name?

That's Conan. [has her pick him up and gently place him on her shoulder and waits a bit until he's settled before guiding them back to the transporter pad]

Okay, well, thanks to Conan then.

You can just drop me off on level 15; I'll find my way from there. But what do you think about all this? What's the captain playing at?

[nods to indicate she heard his request]

If I'm right, he's just throwing some childish fit because some of the passengers have legitimate complaints and now he's making everyone pay for it. Or he sincerely believes this is all some strange illusion or dream as Orion probably did.

[stops to wait for them all to pile on the transporter before scanning to send them all to level 15]

...Or I could be wrong about both my guesses entirely.

No, I think you're spot on about the childish fit, and who knows what the captain really thinks of anything. But what he said about...uh...about the "boy" asking good questions but not the right ones--it makes it sound like he's waiting for something from us. At least, that's how it sounded to me.

[thinks about that for a bit as they arrive, and has Conan set him down once they step off]

You may be on the right track. Keep investigating your questions, and if you listen closely enough, maybe you'll hear your ghost whispering to you, leading you toward the answers.

[curious] As cool as that sounds, what do you mean? Are you talking about...my soul?

[nods] Your soul, your guiding force. It's how we term it where I'm from.
