This was my first time there, so I have no frame of reference. There were some boarded up buildings in the French Quarter, and some trees and traffic lights were slanted like they had been pummeled by hurricane winds, but other than that, I'm not sure.
They had tours that would take you out to the 9th ward to see the real, lingering destruction, but I found the idea of that to be unbelievably tacky, even though they said a "portion" of the cost of the tour would be put towards rebuilding. Gawking at human misery... =/
Jellyfish are adorable! If I could have a tank of them at my house, I would just stare at it for hours on end... so relaxing.
I have a tattoo that is very similar to the octopus in the last picture. It's kind of on my hip/ass though... I had a pic uploaded of it for a while but then I started to feel skanky for showing it off to the internets.
Haha, skanky you say? My boobs totally got posted on the internet as a click-through image when I was posted on modblog for appearing on EMU's homepage. I didn't realize the possible consequences, however unlikely, until it was already said and done! :O
And I just found out Saturday at my tattoo appointment that they're also in Wendi's scarification portfolio at the Lucky Monkey. Yikes! :x
