Character Name: Rocketbilly Redcadillac
Fandom: Gungrave: Overdose

Age: Unknown, seems about his mid twenties
Species: Human/ghost
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation (if applicable): Bisexual

Physical Appearance:
Here!

Rocketbilly seems to stand in the taller five foot range, and is rather lanky and lean beneath his outrageous outfit. He has friendly blue eyes and strawberry blond hair styled back into a pompadour-like hairdo, with the rest of his hair being short, choppy and spike back. He wears a futuristic red jacket over a grey shirt, tight red and black pants and red boots. He's rather solid looking until you reach his lower legs, where he slowly starts fading out until you can barely see his feet against the floor.

Personality and Traits: Billy, on the whole, is rather cheerful and upbeat. He's charismatic, outgoing and friendly, willing to befriend those who'll have him and even some of those who won't, proven by the company he can be seen in most. He's something of a polite lady's man as well--when he flirts, it's more so to make a woman feel better about herself and cheer her up if she's feeling down, rather than having any actual romantic interest in them. He loves pulling people into his good cheer no matter who they are, willing to give all a chance as friends rather than foes unless common sense says he should do otherwise. Unfortunately, his default personality means he doesn't tend to be taken too seriously until he actually gets serious.

Despite his outgoing self, RB is extremely loyal to his friends and would do most anything for all of them. If someone harms them in any way he's not going to rest until he finds out who, why, and if they deserve to be given hell for it. He can be a bit nosy at times for it, but he also does know when things are better left alone and untouched, shown by his reservation about talking about his own personal past. He lives for the present, not the past, and makes the most out of every day he can get. Because really, who knows? He managed to obtain a second chance to rock the world, and it's probably the last he's getting.

Canon Background: Billy's personal past isn't emphasized on at all, and he prefers it to be left in the dark--he's one who focuses greatly on the present rather than dwelling on the past. What's know is that he lived, he died, he haunted his guitar and was eventually saved, indirectly or not, by a blind deadman named Juji Kabane who he came to partner up with in the other's mission to destroy the drug Seed and to kill a man named Garino Creale Corsione. This was, as Billy later came to find out, because Garino had not only been the one to revive Juji for experimentation, but also injected him with an early version of the drug, turning Juji into half deadman half Superior, a term for those who were able to control the Seed's mutation within them to avoid becoming twisted Seed monsters. [The origins of the drug Seed... well, gets detailed later in the history. ANYWAY, Seed's almost like steroids in a sense--it gives you a boost as far as physical capabilities go, but it's also highly addictive and, more often than not, causes the user to morph into a hideous creature with little to no intellect left. Those with strong willpower, however, can control their change to a degree, thus their title of Superiors.] They traveled across the planet wiping out the drug and trying to track down the man. Eventually their journey led them to the Gargoyle Hotel, where one of Juji's sources had said a deal was going down, and the two split up to clean up the hotel and find the big boss.

Instead they ran into Grave, who they mistook for the head honcho and attempted to attack. Mika appeared on the scene rather quickly, and the situation was diffused followed by introductions all around. They all formed a tentative alliance, as they had a common goal: at least, the destruction of the drug Seed. Insert a lot of traveling around, dangerous situations, and Juji being pissy and eventually they found out who the main source of Seed was: the Corsione family. And after the threads are tied up they concentrated their attentions on Garino and crew, and went through a whole new load of crap to eventually pin Garino inside of a starship, where he told them the truth of Seed: that it was an alien substance, and that he planned to spread it across the earth in exchange for the ability to travel the stars granted by the aliens reproducing it. Insert Garino's little secret clone Spike [who was a traveling partner of Mika and Grave's] being killed along with one hella long fight and Grave, Juji and Billy defeated Garino and took down the starship.

After all of that, Juji and Billy, following drifter code, parted from Mika and Grave to continue wandering and wipe out the rest of Seed that lingered on the planet.

Strengths/Abilities: First of all, there's the big fact that it's rather hard for him to take any actual damage--he's a ghost, after all, so everything pretty much passes through him. Along with being able to swing the guitar about as a melee weapon, he can utilize the special dynamo attached to the body to convert spiritual energy into electric energy without much danger to himself. It also seems to be custom-made to withstand a lot of punishment--it can deflect missiles and the like without taking much harm.

His upbeat personality and carefree attitude help keep those around him in good spirits, as well as his songs, and his loyalty makes him a dependable person to call on. Especially if you're a pretty lady. ♥

Weaknesses/Faults: While he's a ghost, this also comes with two big downsides: the fact that he can't touch anything, and that if the guitar he haunts is destroyed, he is, essentially, killed. His guitar is his last connection to the physical realm, and while it can take a rather large amount of damage before being broken is a threat, it's certainly not anything invincible and it eventually, with mishandling, will break and his spirit will be forced to pass on. He's also a lot weaker up close and personal in battle than he is at long range.

Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back): He's got nothin' but his guitar, baby.
