At the Clinic

Dec 14, 2005 23:44

Moira bustled about her laboratory/clinic, clearing the counters, organizing her own personal pharmacy, and generally keeping busy. She made a note to herself to call and see if Hank needed anything after what happened to the younger Guthrie boy a few nights before.

Then she heard someone at the door, and went to answer.

It grates on his nerves, having to do this.

Shatterstar is a proud man. A strong one. And, currently, one who isn't sleeping and hasn't slept properly in several weeks. Even worse ever since he talked with Sam.

He hates having to admit that needs help of any kind, but he needs a decent nights sleep before he pushes even his metabolism too far.

He knocks lightly on Moira's door. "Doctor."

He just wants to sleep through a single night.

Moira smiles as she answers the door. "Shatterstar. Good to see ye. Come in."

She looks him over, seeing no sign of injury, but doesn't think he's there on a social visit. "What can I do for ye?"

He trudges in, waits by the desk for her to turn back to him.

"I cannot sleep. It has been weeks since I had a solid night of sleep. It is starting to affect my thinking and performance. I have tried strenuous exercise during the day, I have tried meditation. Warm milk and honey drinks." He pulls a face at that one. "The only thing I can think of that I have not tried is drinking myself into a stupor, which would be pointless given that I am seeking to improve my thinking and performance, not make myself sick."

He stops and looks at her, hoping that she'll get that he's asking for help without having to actually say it.

"I see," she says, looking him over carefully. "Well, I certainly agree that drinking yuirself into a stupor isna the best way to go about it." She turns, and walks to a cabinet.

"Are there any other symptoms?" she asks as she opens it, pulls out a container of benzodiazapines, and places them on the counter before walking back toward him.
