Rangers could definitely challenge in the AL West, I think. Mariners suck, A's really really suck (says their loyal, but depressed, fan), and the Angels are in first kind of by default. Also, the Angels just lost Vlad, so that's going to bite a chunk out of their offense.

If the A's aren't going to win their division (and being realistic, that doesn't seem likely), then I'd rather have the Rangers win than the Angels. Mostly because I really don't like the Angels. And the Rangers have Soriano, whom I do like. :)

You have failed to mention the performance of Kevin Mench, my superugly same-state homeboy, who leads the AL in fucking amazing game-ending outfield catches as well as bizarre facial expressions from creature closely resembling naked mole rat.
