More Effort into the Macaroni, Less Cheese

Look out, everyone, urban snob coming through.

Last week I received a $20 gift card from my boss for either Romano's Macaroni Grill or Chili's (the other restaurants in the chain don't exist in Oregon to my knowledge). That last paragraph sums up our feelings to a T. I don't think, after going to Pastini, that we will ever set foot in a Macaroni Grill again. Though I have to say that I would like to try and recreate their Penne Rustica, and I also really like their Madeira sauce with mushroom ravioli. But I always think, "I bet I could make this better." And even if I can't, all of the negatives far outweigh those few positives.

Yeah. I know.

They were all wearing extremely modest clothing, though, so I'm betting they were on the deeply religious side of things. Justin leaned over to me and said quietly, "Yes, ma'am, if you let us get too close we will turn your baby gay." Then I startled them all when I guffawed.

I'm happy to say this middle class housewife has never set foot in one. Doesn't sound like I'm missing much.
