So it seems that Santa (aka the parentals) brought me Fallout 3 and the expansion for it, all for the Xbox360 for which i haven't bought a game for in quite some time

Install it at the same time as you install the game (Copy it to your hard drive) I find Xbox expansions are less actual expansions then they are extra missions/content. It's rare to see anything follow a storyline. You'll likely never even notice you've stumbled onto an add on mission rather then one that came with the original game.

So I always install immediately. You won't miss anything
