Slew isn't a verb, it is in fact a noun refering to a large, varied group or selection. For example, "a slew of stakes, some long and pointed, some shorter and dull from use."

Actually, I stand corrected. You're right. But I honestly don't think a Slayer's grammatical correctness is as important as, say, their killing skills, which Kennedy has proven to have in spades.
