To stay, or to not stay

I've never had much opinon on our Russian overlords, which doesn't meant that it's an inconsequential concern. To me, it's just another tick in LJ's slow spiral towards death, since LJ has been owned by Russians for some time now. Only instead, it's more direct ( Read more... )

I haven't signed the TOS, so I can't cross-post from DW to LJ anymore. I've got various workarounds in which to comment and read f-lists, but there'll be no additions or removals to the f-list after this. What I have now on LJ is what I'm stuck with.

As such, I have no doubt I'll lose a few people who are all "haha why u move u stupid scaredy cat" but I just don't care to sign that deal.

Yeah, I know that they've been working to patch the loopholes, but I don't think they'll bother to close all of them. That said, I don't think LJ is long for this world, and sure, while I can understand not wanting to move and sticking it till the end, starting to get acclimated to the other side doesn't seem like a bad move.

Also given that the TOS we sign isn't the legally binding doc since it's a translation!

PS- you're still the same handle on DW, right?

I'm not leaving LJ, but I've made a copy of my LJ on DW (same handle) just in case LJ blows up. I don't want to lose all my entries! It's been years and years!

I likely should back up on DW...but I've also been saying that for a long time, and haven't done it yet.
