I have come to realize that life is a series of don'ts from the time we are born until we die. As soon as we are born we hear -"don't cry" then it progresses to "don't touch". Before we are even speaking we hear repeatedly all the things we are not supposed to do. By the time we are walking and socialising we hear, "don't hit", don't pull hair ( Read more... )

Here are some "DO's" flaming_mo April 5 2006, 17:46:33 UTC
Do know that you are very loved.

Do pick up the phone and call for a sympathetic shoulder. Anytime.

Do ask for hugs.

Do ask for help when you need it.

Do cry when you want to.

Do use chocolate freely as therapeutic manna.

Do go out and kick up your heels.

AND...last and foremost...

Do feel free to come down and enjoy some hospitality, Tampa Bay style!

And I'll add a few more DO's for you!

Do schedule time for play with friends.

Do remember the fun of life when you are blue.

Do remember that you have an open invitation with friends when you want/need us.

Do love yourself as much as we love you.

The Truth About Ownership koshka8 April 6 2006, 15:21:32 UTC
The first step to freedom is realizing how small those walls really are. The first step to empowerment is seeing how trivial the limitations are. The first step to joy is realizing who those burdens and barriers really belong to. Are they yours or are they somebody else's that they put on you and that you accepted, not realizing where they came from? Once you realize who owns a thing, the next step is realizing that only the owner of a thing can be responsible for it. By seeing where these limitations came from you've taken the first step to releasing them to wherever they came from and only accepting what you need to make your life strong, harmonious and ultimately joyful
