Tuesday would have been the 25th anniversary for Steve and myself. I was deeply saddened when my family totally forgot; but then I realized that the date no longer holds importance for anyone but me so why should they have remembered

I'm sorry that no one mentioned the day. Is it possible that they don't know what to say? I know that I talked about this with my Mom the first year that she was alone after my Dad passed. She actually said she preferred that no one mention it as it was her day to mourn now not to celebrate. So since then we don't mention it. Maybe your family and friends need to know that you would rather remember the day instead of ignoring it.
