My family has a long tradition of military service. I was a military wife for 10 years, and my older son was deployed to Afghanistan 3 times and this is the first deployment for Aaron. He was having a hard time last night. I charged him with the task to find the beauty and joy in the little things around him and to write to me about it. Hopefully that will help him look at his experience in a different manner.
