(no subject)
so i still read lj all the time (friends list, ohnotheydidnt), but i rarely update. typing seems hard these days. i haven't updated since april, and i really don't have anything interesting to say, so i'll list my favorite comics right now:
ex machina: it's coming to a close and things are going slowly... i hope it gets great again before the end.
fables: the great fables crossover comes out once a week in fables, jack of fables, and the limited tie-in, the literals. It's interesting, but 6 parts have happened (out of 9), and it seems like each story arc leading to this was more interesting than this. and this deals with the erasure of the entire universe. hmm.
ultimate spiderman: the last issue came out this week, and it was a silent issue. bendis spent the run of USM developing amazing characters supported by the great dialogue. odd that the last issue with the apparent death of 16 year old peter parker has no words. like, i get the drama, but it's weak for the LAST issue.
new avengers/might avengers/dark avengers/dark reign umbrella: Norman osborn (the original green goblin and the original row-hair) has taken command of the safety of the planet. Because of his new role as secret evil asshole, norm and his dark avengers are making appearances in every marvel release, even wizard of oz. well, that might not be true, the Wiz still has some issues coming out before it's over, and maybe wolverines son (yeah, he has a 60 year old son) will make quick work of the cowardly lion. It's interesting to see the marvel u. respond and interact with such a different scenario. Usually, the evil guys are evil, the good guys fight them and no one really cares when it's all over. Now, everyone has to deal with the fuckhead government. Spidey, of course has some serious problems with Norman taking care of the world, seeing as how he killed the love of his life. Not only has osborn taken the greatest parts of pete's life, now osborn is taking his fragile, recently un-dead son Harry into the dark avengers and fucking up his world. btw, harry and pete are bff's so pete's pissed. I don't know how long this will be the status quo, but i like it while it lasts. Some seem to think that Steve Rogers (original Cap), will come back from the dead, and beat up osborn. I think that bucky cap (the new captain america) hasn't had enough time to be cap to give that up now. who knows.
War of Kings mini: I haven't been much into intergalactic warfare in the Marvel U, but this series is actually pretty good. None of you should know about any of that stuff, so i'll just say i like it.
Batman & Robin:
We got a new batman and a new robin. The first issue was interesting. Someone had someone elses face melted to theirs. pretty sick. I'll keep reading. Don't worry, bruce, the goddamn batman will return eventually. I think he's stuck in the pre-historic period right now or something. Oh, and new bats and new robin have a kickass flying batmobile.
