Well, the bed's done (at least bed 1.0 :) )

So, our (very) spoiled animals get wet food mixed in with their dry. Typically, a container of wet food works across a couple of meals, so (a) we buy the more expensive stuff in smaller containers (and b) we typically have half-open bags of dog food in the fridge. So, the Pook's finally asleep. After being sent to bed, he decided that he needed Mommy to come in for a "minute". A "minute" turns into nearly an hour of him talking Mommy's ear off. So, there's a new brother-sister (twins, in fact) at Pook's school. The girl is fairly gregarious and plays with the other kids a lot, but every time I've seen the boy, he's off by himself, appearing sad. So, I'm sitting on the couch, reading a book with the dog at my feet. Suddenly, the dog leaps up and something smaller than a cat, grey, with a bare tail scuttles across the room and into the corner behind the couch. The dog is, of course, going crazy.
