I think metalxcore is traditionally called death metal... that's the way Rob described it to me a few years ago.

The sub-genres confuse each other anyway. People probably just make them up to make their favorite pathetically obscure band seem unique and innovative since the music isn't. And oh man, there simply aren't enough pathetically obscure bands, to be sure!

I think drop D is pretty much standard in shitxcore now... which makes standard tuning what? =D

Yeah, I would say you are right. I think that metalcore (and man I hate that an X is supposed to go there! That's as lame as saying "xtreme"), atleast from the lyrics I have heard, is a lot like death metal. But with emoish lyrics. Whats funny is Shane and I talked about that whole metalcore/death metal difference, too.
