This is everything I was hoping for in a post Reichenbach fic. It had John's ache, it had hints of Molly and her sneakiness, it had Mrs Hudson and the Irregulars. Just - everything was flawless, including the reveal. HE FAINTED AND THEN HE PUNCHED SHERLOCK IN THE FACE. I genuinely will hold that as my canon until the show proves otherwise forever and ever amen. Bravissimo.

*nodnodnod* I figure that if Moffat and Gatiss keep doing what they're doing with epic modern rewrites of the ACD canon, Sherlock's return is going to be as amazingly emo as his fall and I can't wait.

2013 is SO FAR. So far away! Brits, your TV series schedules are killer, they really are. *G*
