all you need

So I made this wedding filter and then I thought, but I feel strangely unable to talk about these things!

It’s interesting to me-I can’t predict where something will fall on the divide between things I will discuss ‘in public’ and CONFIDENTIAL. It seems backwards when I put it on paper, so to speak, but think I tend to default to confidential on ( Read more... )

:D :D :D Sometimes you just need Paint to express your true feelings--well, so says my childhood, anyway. But yes! Super excited and happy and glad that comes across, and glad I have an outlet to express it, to people who get it pretty much unconditionally. That's important too! <3

Also, as a point of information in case it is helpful -- I do a lot of weddings in western MA (waaaay western MA, like usually the Berkshires, though I've done some in Northampton too) so please feel free to email me (this username at gmail works fine) if you have any questions about places and maybe I can be helpful. (And I can always offer squee!)

<3<3<3 Thank you, Kass! I will definitely avail myself of your opinions if we do end up looking more closely at Western MA! I think we'll pretty much not look any further west than we're doing right now, because convenience. But omg, what a gorgeous region, and what nice venues and what nice atmosphere. It was just so lovely to feel for a while like we could strike the gay off gay marriage and just get married.

And I will always accept squee! *grins*

Warm and cuddly are pretty much the words for our entire relationship--well, with sides of snark and trolling, of course. *g* But yay, thank you, I enjoyed writing up this post and having the chance to squee about it with folks! :D :D :D

I want to read 100 more posts JUST LIKE THIS ONE. (Or as many as you feel comfortable sharing. No pressure. :D)

Just for comparison, my mother's reaction to me getting married?

R: Joe asked me to marry him and I said yes.
M: Oh, Regiiina. (in a sort of mild wail.)
R: Are you happy?
M: Well, I don't knoooow..

I think she was kind of freaked out that I was so young (21) and hadn't been dating him for that long 2 months).

But now she LOOOOOOVES him and is very very happy with the whole thing so... give her time.

Moms! Movies and etc about weddings teach us that they will be THRILLED and DELIGHTED when we tell them we're getting married! Turns out that getting your kid hitched isn't the be-all end-all thrillfest, who'd have guessed!

lolol I don't know if I'll have a hundred of these, but omg, I love talking about this stuff! So maybe! *G*

It is very common for Moms and other people to not be pure glee-happy-delight-face about weddings, I am learning! Which, like, is so not what I was expecting, because media. That's so interesting to me--but it makes sense! This is your kid making a huge life change, and parents worry. But you and MrGiraffe are delightful, and I'm glad your mom came around, and <3<3<3333333
