cons: still a delight

MJ! It was a mix of good time and GREAT time for me. I loved the new hotel, which was super classy but staffed by people who seemed both greatly competent AND friendly. I adore the con comm and my fellow volunteers and I only once stole a volunteer button, although I did multiple times stuff the suggestions box with drawings of Mark Hamill's penis ( Read more... )

I'm shy, people laugh when I say it but I truly am, new people are terrifying

I laugh because when I met you, you armed yourself with a blanket and a crochet hook. :D

I think you will love Elementary - Lucy Liu is fantastic as Watson, and her relationship with Holmes is so well done - it's great how it develops and the deepening friendship and levels of respect there. It reminds me of Mulder and Scully a bit.

See!? See! I should just tell people who don't believe me about the shyness, Ask Snacky. Snacky KNOWS.

...I will admit to GREAT HAPPINESS about being less shy/socially maladroit/generally 19 these days. *grins*

Also I don't knit or crochet at ALL anymore. Unshocking? I still hate being a passenger in the car though. *G*

I'm into how much everyone approves of what Elementary has done with the character of Watson, and how much growth/development the two of them have had. It sounds MUCH more interesting than what I was expecting, overall. Now I just have to find time to sit down and watch a solid chunk of it! Hopefully sometime soon.

If I hate it, I'm holding you all responsible. :D

YOU ARE SO GREAT. like. SO GREAT. your FOB panel was AMAZING fun (PRIZES FROM THE DOLLAR STORE!) and your mini-Big Eden panel at the reg desk with Liz and B was awesome to watch and I just love you a very great deal.

and your suggestion box is the greatest suggestion box to suggest.

NO UUUUUUUUU

I'm so glad the FOB panel was fun--I knew me and my prizes could bomb badly, and am glad we had an easy-to-please crowd. *grins* I'm still having that mini-Big Eden panel IN MY HEAD, btw. Have rewatched TWICE since MJ and gotten the story I'm working on up over 7000 words. \o/

I love YOU a very great deal, and that is why I do these things to your suggestions box--I want to make sure that you guys feel objectified APPRECIATED for all the hard work you put in and insanity you wrangle! <3

Just so you know, you are one of those people I am so glad to see even if only in passing!

DITTO. The in passing part is what always sucks--I both want and am terrified of the idea of an MJ that lasts like FIVE days so we can see MORE of people who are delightful. :D :D :D It'd take a month to recover though, I bet, and that's IF we all left con-crud free. *g*

YAY successfully managing your social experience! I've yet to do that at a con, but I have hope!

This was my 9th trip to a small fan con and I think probably the second time I reallllly was satisfied with how I managed the social end. And like, still room for tweaks! *grins* But it's such a tricky process with so many things to consider--it's kind of a challenge every time, but so WORTH it!

I am so so sad to not have seen you, but I want to! Any chance of a NYC visit in your future, lady? I have a sofa and we can watch Big Eden on my flatscreen and cry our faces off at the perfectness of it!
