Fic has certain advantages over the show itself - like you don't have to worry about budget and actor availability when writing. :) I always thought that John, Mary and Jess should have been in Are You There God.... so this definitely rights that oversight. Thank you. (As does Sam's head injury - between Hendricksen and the two little girls, he should have least been a little woozy!)

Like your explanation, too, why Sam and Dean were sleeping on the couch and floor downstairs when Bobby seems to have a gazillion bedrooms upstairs.

Nice banter between the boys and Bobby - love all the little playful digs.

As writers it is fun to do what the show couldn't do for budget and other reasons. I'm with you, I think it would have been nice to have had the parents and Jess pop up in this episode.

I also share you confusion on the gazillion bedrooms but Dean slept on the floor and Sam on the couch? I had to remedy that in my head by coming up with an explanation that fit- glad it worked for you as a reader too.

I love practical Bobby. And Sam with a head injury. It was good to get to explore the guilt Sam’s still living with and how that motivated his choices. This is a great tag.
