The first time I read this book i was really quite young (12 years old) and I read it because I'd just done history at school and found the holocaust pretty hard to understand (why would people do that to people).

The second time I read it was the week after I visited the house they hid in in amsterdam, it was even more powerful as an adult especially after being in locations she described.

This is one of the most important books ever written imho and long may it be read by people to remind us all of what human beings are capable of towards others.
