Exercise Log for May 6

May 07, 2008 16:06

After several days of being cooped up at home (with a stomach bug of some sort) or in the office, it was impossible to resist the temptation of the sunny afternoon.

We capitalized on it with a brisk 1.5 mile walk at Bradley Woods Metropark, with three loops around Bunns swamp Lake.

Wildlife sightings were many and distracting: there were dozens and dozens of Canada goslings milling around, eating grass, peeping, and generally being so darling as to stop both my legs from walking and my heart from beating for a moment with every encounter. There were also many hissing Canada geese parents, two mallards, one red-wing blackbird and many heard-but-not-seen bullfrogs.

By the end of the walk I felt a little dizzy and lightheaded, sure sign that I wasn't quite up to snuff yet. Soon, I hope. This inactivity is really bugging me.
