Is this Lord's message true? Are our homes truly gone?

It seems impossible. It is impossible. How could such a thing come to be?

There's really no way to prove it, is there? And I mean, if there is, I don't know ...

Benefit of the doubt?

I doubt they would bring us here and then give us a way to confirm it on our own.

But I have felt wrong since I arrived. Weaker.

I'm sorry, Iramaat. I really don't know any more than you do, and trust me, if I did, I'd share.

I trust that you would, Crow.

But it can't be true.

How do you know? What is his proof?

I am afraid I have no real proof. Simply experience. I spent two years away from my home elsewhere because it was destroyed. I was on a ship, and something called the End devoured our worlds. The ship was... a vessel to bring survivors to a paradise, I suppose, but it reached it before we did.

This place is... different, and I am afraid what the Lord may be speaking of is completely different, so we destroyed the End, but I have no reason to doubt his sincerity.

Impossible. It must be impossible.

Even if they aren't gone you can't get back to them, so it doesn't really matter.

And why can't we return? What power stops us?

...I dunno. The walls?

[Ezra hasn't actually asked about the limits of this place yet. He just assumed it was like Vertiline. Whoops.]

The last place I was at, it was monsters in the fog. It's probably something like that here, too. If there was a way out here, Zeke would've told me.

Walls cannot hold me if I do not wish them to.

[Hmmph.]

At this point not a damn thing. Not definitively anyway.

They will come back, if they are actually gone. I'll make sure of it.
