Who do we think we are?

One thing that the past few months has done for me is humble me greatly. I didn’t even realize how self-righteous and prideful I was until I was humbled and able to look back. I’m thankful for that because I think it was instrumental in me being the woman God wants me to be and in him being able to use me the way he wants to ( Read more... )

I think it's more the way she handled it than anything. Yes, I do believe we as Christians are to hold each other accountable for things that are biblical. We don't let our kids watch Harry Potter. If you read Deuteronomy 18, you will see why. Yes, it's in the old testament, but Jesus came to fulfill the law, not destroy it so we can do what we want. However, it does depend on if it's something that is not made clear as wrong in the bible. Since I don't know what the matter is, I can't say for sure. But if it's something that isn't really clear in the bible, then I would have to seek the Lord in prayer about that. I do let the boys watch The Lord of The Rings though. It's written by a Christian and has very many biblical undertone's. I am a firm believer in being held accountable though. However, it's how it's handled sometimes more importantly than what the issue is. Does that make sense? Well, that's my two cents... cha-ching! :D ( ... )

There are many things that I do not involve myself in because I belive that biblicaly it's not okay. HOWEVER I'm not gonna tell anyone else that it's wrong or question there Christianity because they choose to do it. I will share with them why I do not do it. nothing more. I'm not the Holy Spirit and I'm not God, I don't convict people nor judge them.

On the other hand If a person is in going against specific commandments in the bible or it is a salvation issue at hand ( not a child toy) I would be more apt to share much more. but in a loving manner.

Well... I agree that we shouldn't judge someones level of faith. But there is discernment. The corinthian church had issues with things like this. That's why the church has elders. We have to have accountability so that we can stay in line with the word. Trust me, I am seeing someone in my fellowship that doesn't have accountability and it's not pretty. Rather distressing honestly.

I'm not God either, but if we are born again and have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, then it is the Holy Spirit in us that guides us and corrects us. Like when you see your child is doing something that you know is out of line or putting them in danger. You gently correct them. That's all I'm saying. The bible is pretty clear on us holding each other accountable. But in a loving matter and w/o selfish motivation. So yes, I agree. But I do see the gift of discernment as the Holy Spirit in us (Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world) showing us right and wrong. The truth is though, not all of us have that gift. ( ... )
