In Siren's Port Simon will develop a dormant ability to produce and then breath into the atmosphere a slightly altered chemical from his universe known short hand as the Pax. A basic summary of what it does can be found here. Simon's version differs in that once he stops producing the chemical it will dissipate any victims will come around after ( Read more... )

Hi! I'd be interested in playing both sides of this with you. Lucifer is, well, difficult to Paxify because he is the embodiment of Sin. But eventually I would like to play out what happens when it does work.

And also when it backfires, since he rarely ever gets peace and might come back to Simon for more of it. And then bam, Reaver Satan.

Excellent! :D

I had wondered about how it would work on supernatural beings, if at all, but if Lucifer at least breathes then there's a chance it will have an effect on him. The first several times Simon ends up using it will be moments when he feels his life is in danger until he can figure out how to do it at will. I'm not sure if Lucifer would be the sort to outright threaten Simon to get his peace fix but it could add an...interesting dynamic? What do you think?

Lucifer might, if he realizes that's how the peace works. And it doesn't take a whole lot at this point to get him to make someone at least feel deeply threatened, so that might be how it starts off? :D

Although he will probably protect Simon, too. To make sure no one ruins his little Pax maker.

I like where this is going. X3

It's probably worth mentioning that Simon will eventually recognize what his power is and the risk he's taking in using it at all, but it's possible for him to mistakenly think that if it pacifies someone the first time then it will always pacify and never turn that person Reaver. It will just make it an even bigger shock when it all goes horribly wrong.

Right now it is time for me to sleep, but late tomorrow I will put up Simon's IC intro and we can get these two introduced and start CR building, sound good?

Oh yeah and if you need to know anything more about how the Pax works don't hesitate to ask, since for normal humans it leaves them so pacified they'd let themselves waste away, but Lucifer might have some resistance...we'll see! Anyway, yes, good night for now. o/

I'm not really sure Simon would ever need to hit Luxord with Pax, but just for the sake of getting things cleared up in case he does, how would it work on someone who is... perhaps not entirely human anymore?

For Nobodies, eh? Well the original Pax possibly worked on animals as well as humans, as in the movie the planet that the Pax was used on seemed devoid of all life even though the only corpses seen were human. However, for Nobodies it's trickier. As a general rule I think if the person he's using it on doesn't require air to breathe or doesn't have some other immunity (like Poison Ivy's for example) then it would have an effect. However, that raises the question of whether Nobodies really are little more than hollow shells or if there's some substance to their bodies.

If Luxord were the only one of his kind I'd leave it up to you to decide, but what do you think? It's a chemical reaction designed to work on living, organic beings. Do Nobodies not fall under that category? :|a

Stat-wise, I'm pretty sure most of the Nobodies get boss-immunity to status spells, buuuuut since it's not really my place to speak for the whole cast we probably shouldn't go with that. And canon is pretty clear that they're alive enough to at least partially exist - and they're most certainly organic.

idk about the reaver-fication half of it since lol emotions, but I'd say that they're at least susceptible to the Pax.

*nods* Sounds fair. And a good way to think of it is not as decreasing or increasing emotion but aggression, but since Reavers are so very horrible that would be entirely up to you and the other Nobody-muns if it ever happens, whether or not it can.
