Roy was just passing the kitchen when the other exited, and he paused, arching an eyebrow slightly at seeing her so laden down. He hesitated just a moment, then moved forward with a faint smile. "Need a hand with that...?"
He'd been keeping to himself for long enough. It was about time he started socializing again; he didn't have Hughes here to snap him out of his funk, this time, and the boys had their own problems; he wasn't going to burden them further with his.
Rikku jumped slightly at the question, almost half-expecting to see Sephiroth there. She'd gotten a little too comfortable between now and the last time she'd seen the silver-haired man and needed to be on her guard. When she turned to face the other, she was greatly relieved to see Roy there and not Sephiroth.
"Oh, hi!" Rikku beamed at him. She looked down to the basket and drinks she carried. "Yeah, that'd be nice," she said, holding out the drinks to Roy.
He was a little surprised to see the other jump like that, amused and sheepish; he hadn't intended to startle her.
He accepted the drinks with another smile, though. "Looks like you've got quite the variety there... planning a picnic?" ... he couldn't remember the last time he'd gone on a picnic. The idea was actually rather pleasant, really...
"Thought you might have been someone else," Rikku sighed, feeling silly for being so jumpy.
She held up the basket. "Yeah," she said. "It's a nice day and I didn't want to stay stuck in the house and all." She grinned at Roy. "Care to join me?"
