Tammy, stop worrying. Are you sure you want to bring your car? Maybe you should hold off on bringing your car for the first year. If after a year you feel that you would need a car then you can worry about it later. First find out if a car is necessary; by then, you'll have more info on getting a CT license, registration...etc.
As for the acute NP thing, if you decide that you aren't into ANP after the fact, keep in mind that you'll still be an RN regardless of your master's. So you could potentially work in any department you want. And about MDs not liking NPs you can just tell them to shove it because nurses are just as important as Docs (if not more important). I definitely like my NP more than most doctors I've seen. (Doctors are just bitter that NPs can do the same things as them without having horrendous student loans to pay back...hehe)

hey stacy mama (i dunno why but for some reason, i just had the urge to call you that. it's all outa love). thanks for the reassuring words :) yes i've been in a bit of a funk lately but i'm slowly getting myself out of it. right after i wrote this, i realized that yeah... as an acnp, i'll be able to work pretty much anywhere since i'll be able to take care of pretty much anybody (that's kinda cool!). and yeah... i shouldn't let the fact that all docs don't like nps bother me. they can be bitter bastards and that aight with me.
about the car, i'm pretty sure i'll need it, since clinicals are all over connecticut. in the acceptance letter, yale even recommended bringing a car. i think we just might end up driving it over to save some money, so i'm not really going to worry about this anymore... until i get to ct that is :p

As for things to do # 4 I can provide a suggestion, the school should offer health insurance for the students. So you should be able to get health insurance through Yale
