I say go for a Sony Ericsson. Pretty well every phone they release has problems on release, because they rush said releases. But, any phone that's been on the market for over a month shouldn't have any troubles.
Few mates had V3x's and were pretty happy with them. I've just gone and bought a V3x today and so far I'm happy with its functionality. I guess its a matter of time to find all the bugs though...
Ok, found the biggest problem for me - the bluetooth functionality with a headset. It keeps the headset linked up all times, and diverts all sound to it (not just phone calls). Theres probably a way around it, but I've gotta have a look for it.
Also the voice dialing really sucks for me, it really doesn't work well with recognising my voice.
