It's like you said about Sam being the smart one. He totally overthought everything, while Dean going with his gut instinct of demons are untrustworthy turns out to be the actual smart thing to do. And Sam's still overthinking it. Dean obviously doesn't know it was Cas who let Sam out of the demon panic room because if he did he'd have totally reacted like I did to Cas's little pissy hissy fit: It's your fault too, jackass. And Oh, Bobby. It's not that losing the ability to walk isn't a big fucking deal, it's just that you are Bobby, and you can totally still kick ass from a wheelchair. Don't make me crawl into the show and smack you upside the head. You are more than just legs, Bobby Singer. You are a scholar. A warrior. A father. Act like one. I really want there to be a moment where Dean snaps him out of it by pointing out that if it were Dean in the wheelchair sulking, Bobby would be ripping him a new one. Dean is so naked without his amulet. I didn't really get a Terminator vibe, but I did like what was basically a small-scale,

I hear you, because the favorite!bro! wars are depressingly prevalent these days. And I know that I probably haven't been much help myself in this regard, because I've focused on some of the negatives of what Sam's going through. But I also have to say that Sam's never been more *interesting*, with everything going on in his head. So yes, more squee should be out there, so many layers to dissect!
I'm really looking forward to this week, because I think that we're going to get some great insight into maybe how he's addressing trying to change, and I CAN'T WAIT to dig into that. :) Is it Thursday yet?
You know I have no musical knowledge at all ao it makes me happy that the song had such significance for you.
I do wonder if it's always been a GodEMF or if it's because it's an atheist's symbol of faith.
I have the same question and would like it answered, Kripke.
In Season 1, the other hunters were whispers and rumors of hope and salvation. I like that they've gone back to that. I love the humanity of that. In the end nothing else matters and we are ALL part of the same human family.
I like that Kripke is really laying the groundwork for "humanity" vs "supernatural" whether or not the supernatural is angelic or demonic. He's been talking about it for a long time and I'm very interested to see the pay-off. I'm hoping now that Ellen, Rufus and Jo have been reintroduced that we'll see them again.
Sam: The problem's me. How far I'll go.
Echoing Dean's words in Devil's Trap because they share the same language. *drawe sparkly hearts* I totally flashed back to Scarecrow, particularly as Sam was walking away

I guess this means I get chocolate, though I don't have any particularly thinky thoughts to share in return. But I like reading everyone else's thoughts, I always pick up something I had missed.
Yes. Kripke should answer us. Now. By personal email, preferably... no wait. That would actually freak me out. Nevermind.
Even if we don't SEE them - I want them to hear about them - Bobby or something mentioning "Ellen and Jo found this while clearing another infected town - " or "Rufus called and asked if you two could check out - " kinds of things.
Absolutely awesome to tie in the Buffalo Springfield song (why can't I remember the name?), which should have totally been playing in the background. Or the next recap, even though it's not exactly classic rock. Loved the use of Spirit in the Sky

The song is For What It's Worth and it's screwing you up because EVERYONE mentally thinks of it as "Stop, Children (what's that sound)". HEE.
Some of my best SPN friends are Samazons! I do get that this is just heart rending for them. The only thing to do is to squee about how much I see in Sam and love it.
Sam in S1 is very much about control issues too. It's gonna end up sparking another meta.
Wow, I didn't know you would actually send me "chocolate"! I'm pretty new to LJ so it all amazes me. Thanks!
What I love about the show, well one of many things, is that actions have consequences. Dean's deal had plenty of fallout, heck it still does. Sam's actions have their own consequences. It's heartbreaking sometimes to see the fallout, but lessons are learned and life goes on. Even for Sam and Dean.
For What It's Worth. Thank you. I should have remembered that, darn it. ::grin::

And brains. Um, not together. I mean, I like where you went with all that. Not brain eating. Even if the zombie apocalypse is upon us.

Enjoyed reading your thoughts on Sam's control issues. Good food for thought -- I must think on that some more.

The mirrors here to season 1 are killing me.
