Wow, what a turnout! Thank you for stopping by! I realize your time is valuable, and things are a little crowded, so let me start with a few disclaimers so those who wish to can leave right away. ( Read more... )
LOL, thank you for the introduction. I have been reading your journal for awhile now. I enjoy your unusual take on things, though I do not always agree you always make me think.
I found you through a mutal LJ friend friends page. I hope it is ok that I have been leaving comments. If not please let me know.
I would love to be on your friends list and have access to some of your filtered posts but I understand that you do not know me and its cool if you are not comfortable with that.
You're already on it. I add pagans to it by default whenever I add them as friends. I don't think I've written anything too recently under that filter.
I just looked back in the archive. The most recent Wizard's Scrapbook post was July 31st. If you look under the archive under "view subjects," just look for posts with two locks on them to find the filtered posts. I think that's the only filter I have that you're on.
I met you in AODA, though since I have been ejected. Too pagan for catholics, too catholic for pagans seems to be my lot.
I do live far away though, in Montana, so I'd dig hearing some of your "Wizard" thoughts and experiences to compare with my own, though I am an animistic-medievalist (a
My adolescence was shaped by many books too, and experientially, Castaneda's "Journey to Ixtlan" and "Tales of Power" got me to experience some heavy stuff, including becoming invisible in full view while I slept once. Finding one's spot is what Castaneda called it. (Yes I am aware he was a fraud, but that doesn't mean there wasn't truth to it!) Sleeping on a big open lawn at night in August 1980, and the guard could hear me snoring, but though he looked he could not find me, until daylight.
Hello Mr. Wizard. (I really wanted to call you Mr. Wizard)
I read a comment on a post of YarrowKat's and thought I recognized your moniker so I looked and sure enough, you are LJ friends with three of my favorite people. That led me to this post. I'm very fond of this post. It's the kind of thing that would get me in trouble occasionally. An old co-worker of mine refers to me as the evil mediator because I would settle arguments by convincing everyone that they are all wrong.
That wasn't actually my intent, but hey, it usually worked. Having a diverse background makes one see a lot of different angles.
And then, you mention Ninja Secrets of Invisibility! I had a copy of that until just about a year ago when we got rid of some books that got damaged by silverfish. I first got it back in 1985, I think, when someone brought a copy to high school. :)
Anyway, just wanted to say I enjoyed this post quite a bit.
Hello, and thank you. I haven't heard from crankles in forever (which is unfortunate, because I remember liking her a lot), but I also follow aisa0 and yarrowkat on Facebook. They have interesting lives, and their farm always seems to be a step ahead of mine.
Hello! I (Crankles, posting anonymously since LJ mysteriously won't let me log in) still around, just not on LJ much. So that was a fairly worthless comment I just made, other than to say "I'm not dead and may one day return."
